A New Beginning
Launching a new site and blog
I’ve owned this domain for many years and used it for little more than email hosting up until now. A few events happened in my life that made me think this site could host some useful information to help others and serve as a repository for my own thoughts going forwards.
So, here we are. A new beginning. No champagne corks popping, just a basic site with some content. I’ve used the following because they’re easy-to-use and allowed me to get going quickly. Perhaps this might help you too:
- Hosting by DigitalOcean using Apache on Ubuntu.
- CI/CD using Jenkins.
- DDoS protection/edge caching by CloudFlare.
- Engine by Hugo.
- Theme based on Huey by Adam Whitlock.
- CSS styling using Bulma.
Going forwards you can expect rumblings on things I find interesting including Home Assistant, ESP8266 SoC’s, Docker, .NET development, hiking, running, a four-legged family and travelling the world…
